About Summit Renovations
Started in the fall of 2015, Summit Renovations founder Troy Coup began his journey working for a small remodeling company located in Johnson County, Kansas. He learned the remodeling business handling all the sales, estimating, marketing, and customer interactions.
From the beginning, he saw an opportunity to specialize in a particular area of construction working with homeowners on all types of projects, but especially those that involve deck construction and deck repairs. The Kansas City area experiences such wide swings in weather, from the extreme cold temperatures of winter, to the blistering heat of the summer. The extreme temperature changes are very hard on wood, creating a high demand for homeowners to either repair or rebuild their existing decks.
All of Summit Renovations crews have been on board since the first day of operation. This is important when working with a contractor, because trust and reliability are only earned over time and through deep experience working together as a team. Deck projects are 75% of our work, which makes us very efficient, accurate, and speedy, all while keeping our craftsmanship at a peak level.

Types of Deck Repairs
Averaging 50-60 deck builds every year, Summit Renovations specializes in deck design, builds, and repairs.
Decking
Our experienced crews remove old decking and re-deck with either wood or composite decking boards.
Posts, Beams & Joists
Repair or replace rotted beams, joists, and 4” x 4” or 6” x 6” posts that have failed due to pier failure, rotted wood, or incorrect pier depth.
Board Replacement
Replace individual rotted decking boards and install back down to joists with 3” inch galvanized deck screws.
Stairs & Handrails
Rebuild stair units and new hand rails.
